Subject Description
This subject provides an opportunity for students to develop a self-directed visual arts project. Students define an overall topic, specify key issues and questions, investigate relevant traditions of practice and engage in a coherent program of creative development, which includes both skill acquisition and the development of creative work. This process of technical, conceptual and creative enquiry provides the basis for successful engagement in the subsequent subject CAVA390


Subject Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this subject, students will:
1. be able to understand the ways in which art theory and history can be integrated into their creative practice
2. have developed sound technical and conceptual skills needed for visual arts projects
3. be able to identify key issues and questions to frame visual arts projects
4. have developed confidence and the skills needed to work independently
5. have an increased awareness of the strategies for initiating and resolving visual ideas
