Subject Description
This subject introduces students to the multiple elements of video news journalism and content production. Students will explore the role video news plays in the journalism landscape, and produce video news content for broadcast and online. This subject explores the position of video images in the presentation of news, and the challenges associated with delivering video content in a deadline-driven environment. Students will be responsible for the sourcing, capturing, editing and broadcasting of video news content.

Subject Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this subject, students will be able to:
1. identify the elements of a video news story and a video news bulletin
2. produce and compile the elements of a video news story into concise video news packages for publication
3. identify and understand the place and impact of video news in a journalism context
4. articulate and analyse the legal and ethical implications of video news development and publication
